What is Aciclovir (500mg) 100 TabletsAciclovir is an antiviral medication used to treat herpes infections. It works by stopping the growth and spread of the herpes virus, thus preventing the recurrence of the infection. Aciclovir is also used to treat cold sores, genital herpes, shingles, and chickenpox. Aciclovir can also be used to treat chickenpox. It is not recommended for use in children under the age of 18 years unless specifically stated on the packaging. It is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Aciclovir for treatment of cold sores, genital herpes, shingles, and chickenpox in the United States in 1998. Aciclovir may also be used for the treatment of herpes zoster, a sexually transmitted infection that can be transmitted to sibs through sex. Aciclovir is not indicated for use in children under the age of 18 years unless specifically stated on the packaging. Although Aciclovir is not approved for use in children under the age of 18 years, it may be prescribed for this purpose by a healthcare professional as long as the clinical need is met. Aciclovir is not approved for the treatment of cold sores, genital herpes, shingles, or chickenpox in the United States in the year 2000. Aciclovir may also be used for the treatment of chickenpox. Dosage:To be effective, the body has to stop the growth of viruses and other diseases in order to cure a viral infection. Aciclovir is usually used to treat the following diseases: chronic bronchitis, empyema, sinusitis, pneumonia, and tonsillitis (tonsilitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus agalactiae).

The usual dosage of aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg of this medicine is one 200mg tablet taken orally at the same time each day.
There is no evidence that this medicine is addictivein any way other than those prescribed by the doctor.
Aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg inhibit the replication of viruses, including herpes labialis, varicella zoster (chickenpox), cytomegalovirus (meningitis), and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). The antiviral action of aciclovir is associated with the inhibition of the DNA polymerase enzyme. Aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg inhibit viral DNA synthesis by preventing the incorporation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a substance known as estrogen in the body, into the template and/or replicationisterating form of the virus. This is thought to be the reason why the antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg are used together to treat herpes labialis (cold sores).
There is no strong evidence that aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg are better than one another in the treatment of HIV infection.
Aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg are usually given orally, with or without food, for 10 to 14 days. The tablets should be taken at the same time each day, with or without food.
Before you start taking this medicine, tell your doctor if:
The most common side effects of taking aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 400mg are acne (3 to 6%), headache (2.3%), diarrhea (2.1%), pain in the lower back (1.6%), diarrhoea (1.5%), abdominal pain (1.5%), and fatigue (1.5%). Less than 1% of people taking aciclovir antiviral tablets 200mg and 1% taking aciclovir antiviral tablets 400mg (one out of three) will have any side effect.
